DAVE CRIPPS / UN-SOUND

Your privacy.

THE SHORT VERSION

I don’t want to track you.

If you give me your email address, I use it to tell you about new stories, books, audio dramas and other creative work from Dave Cripps / UN-SOUND.

I don’t sell your data, use it for targeted advertising or build advertising profiles about you.

That’s the deal.

WHAT I COLLECT

If you use the contact form, I receive the name, email address and message you provide so I can respond. This does not subscribe you to the mailing list. The hosting server keeps a hashed network identifier and short-lived request counts to limit spam; expired counts are cleared on the next request. The contact form does not use tracking cookies.

If you subscribe, I collect your email address and the limited technical information needed to manage your subscription and deliver emails.

I don’t deliberately collect personal information I don’t need.

EMAILS

I send you emails because you asked me to.

You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email. Once you unsubscribe, I’ll stop sending marketing emails.

I may retain limited information where necessary to record your unsubscribe request or meet legal or administrative requirements.

WHO PROCESSES YOUR INFORMATION

I use third-party services where they are necessary to run the website and mailing list.

These may include:

MailerLite, which manages subscriptions and sends emails.

My website hosting provider, which may process limited technical information needed to serve and secure the website.

BookFunnel, if you choose to use its service to download one of my books.

These companies process information according to their own services and privacy arrangements. I don’t give them your information so they can advertise unrelated products to you.

If I substantially change the services that handle your personal information, I’ll update this page.

TRACKING AND COOKIES

I keep tracking to a minimum.

I don’t use advertising cookies or deliberately enable cross-site tracking.

If I use basic website statistics, I keep them as limited and anonymous or aggregated as practical.

If I introduce non-essential cookies or tracking that requires your consent, I’ll ask first.

YOUR RIGHTS

UK data-protection law gives you rights over your personal information. Depending on the circumstances, these can include asking to see it, correcting it, deleting it, restricting or objecting to its use, and withdrawing your consent.

You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office if you believe your information has been mishandled.

CHILDREN

This website and my stories are intended for adults. I do not knowingly collect mailing-list subscriptions from children.

CHANGES

If I materially change how I use personal information, I’ll update this policy.

I will not quietly turn “tell me when there’s a new story” into permission for an entirely different surveillance apparatus.
